I work on the pollination biology of Cattleya coccinea, a small epiphytic orchid with bright red flowers from the montane rainforest of southeast Brazil. I am aiming to answer key questions such as: Who pollinates C. coccinea? and: Does C. coccinea offer nectar as a floral reward? Furthermore, I am looking into potential inter- and intraspecific facilitation/inhibition of pollination in C. coccinea.
