Forschungsprofil
I am contributing a mechanistic modelling component using metaRange to the Biodiversity Model Intercomparison Project (BMIP), coordinated by the Group on Earth Observations Biodiversity Observation Network (GEO BON) EcoCode working group. The broader goal of this initiative is to systematically compare multiple models using standardised input datasets. By applying different modelling approaches to the same underlying environmental and occurrence data, the aim is to evaluate differences in model structure, assumptions, uncertainty, and predictive performance. This hopefully leads to improved transparency, reproducibility and comparability in biodiversity modelling for conservation planning and policy decisions. The standardised input data for the project focuses on 18 bird species across the United States.
